History

Head Start was started in 1994 by Julie Moinet B.Ed Hons EYPS. Julie was looking for childcare for her eldest child and nothing she saw met her high standards, so she started her own nursery!

Her aim was to provide a warm, caring environment that nurtured and developed her child, enabling him to develop, grow and learn at his own pace. This is still true today (even though her baby is off at university now!) and she views each nursery with the same remit…..is this somewhere I would want my child to be?

Julie is a working mother with three sons and an early year’s teacher with a passion for childcare. She continually reviews best practice and her own personal training in order to lead her team of professionals in offering the very best to all children in our care. Her hands on approach has resulted in the four small vibrant and cosy day nurseries.

She recognised the demands and needs of parents and supports them by providing the most suitable early year’s environment where children want to play and learn and where parents can rest assures that their child is receiving the care, love and attention the rightly deserve.

Head Start is very much a family business with Gary Moinet in charge of all things finance and administration and with many staff who have been with us since the beginning.
