Head Start is registered with Ofsted and County Early Years which enables you to receive the free entitlement for your child when they become eligible.
Your child will become eligible to receive this money to help with the cost of nursery fees from the term following their third birthday.
Fees are payable in advance on the 1st of each month by cheque, cash, vouchers, bank transfer, standing order or by credit card via the Head Start website www.headstartnursery.net/pay-fees-here
In the event of a credit or debit card being used to pay for nursery fees and the amount debited to your account by you is incorrect, we will refund the difference within 3-working days, once agreed with the nursery manager.
- A fee of £25 will be payable for returned cheques, unpaid standing orders, standing orders that have not been cancelled or fees that are more than 10 days overdue.
- Your child may be excluded and registration terminated if fees remain outstanding after the 20th of the month without written approval from the manager. No outstanding fees will be carried forward into a subsequent month.
- Fees are calculated by multiplying the sessions attended by 52 weeks and then divided by 12 months giving a fixed monthly charge.
- Head Start term time option is for 42 weeks. Fees are calculated by multiplying the sessions by 42 weeks and divided by 11 months, giving a fixed monthly charge (no fees in August).
- If you choose to attend term time only, the term closures are two weeks at Easter and two weeks at Christmas, plus six weeks in the summer. Exact dates are available at the nursery.
- In extreme circumstances, we may suspend the provision of childcare to your child if the senior team deem necessary. The suspension shall continue whist we address and try to rectify any issues.
- A full calendar months notice is required for the removal of your child from the nursery or to reduce their sessions.
- The registration fee of £50 is not refundable; this includes a Head Start top and bag. There is no registration fee for siblings. Head Start uniform can be purchased from the manager.
- Head Start Day Nursery will confirm your child’s place on receipt of the signed contract.
- The free entitlement is deducted monthly off your fees for any eligible child aged 3 or 4 years.
- Fees will be reviewed and adjusted as necessary. Parents will be informed at least a month in advance.
- Head Start Day Nursery does not accept responsibility for accidental injury or loss of property. Head Start maintains the insurances required by law, copies of which are displayed in the nursery.
- The nursery staff must be informed if any adult other than the known parent or carer is to collect your child. Proof of identification and password will be required on their arrival at nursery.
- If your child has severe food intolerance, we will require medical advice and parents may be required to provide food.
- We appreciate that there may be occasions where lateness is unavoidable; however, persistent lateness in collecting your child at the end of their session will result in a £10 charge for every 10 minutes or part thereof being levied. This applies equally to the end of all sessions, either at 1pm or at 6pm.
- Fees are payable during periods of absence from the nursery including sickness, family holidays, bank holidays and severe weather.
- It is the duty of the parent’s to keep the nursery updated in writing of any changes in mobile telephone numbers, family contact details, any continuing illness and/or allergies, plus any dietary requirements of your child.
- In an emergency situation, Head Start will endeavour to contact the parent in the first instance, then the emergency contacts. If none of these can be contacted, the most suitable senior member of staff will act in loco parentis in the best interest of your child.
- The illness policy and medical guidelines are in place for the benefit of all and must be adhered to at all times.
- Head Start is closed for public and bank holidays.
- No session can be swapped for another, extra sessions will be charged for.
