Head Start Day Nursery – Northampton

This is a wonderful nursery set between Abington Park and the Race Course Park, just near to the County Cricket ground. Head Start is located in an impressive Victorian property which was converted into a nursery in 1992. It has recently been fully refurbished and re-equipped by Julie and her team, bringing it right up to date!

We have a rolling programme of renewing our equipment to ensure your child has new and exciting things to learn and explore every session. It has a lovely homely feel whilst still being very light and spacious.

Fees, Funding and Sessions

Head Start Day Nursery offers a really flexible solution to all your childcare needs.

• ­We are open from 8.00am to 6.00pm every day (only closed for bank holidays).
• Your child can attend all year round or Head Start term time which is 42 weeks per year.
• You can add up to two hours to an AM or PM session.
• Your child can attend extra sessions on an ad-hoc basis at short notice (subject to availability).
• We also cater for shift patterns whenever possible.

From the time you arrive at our door you will be guaranteed a warm welcome. We care for children from 3 months to 5 years of age and are open from 8.00 am to 6.00pm. Apart from our exceptional childcare, we also offer something most other nurseries don’t which is complete flexibility! We aim to cater for the needs of today’s parents whether they are just going shopping for as few hours, work alternate shifts, or going to work full time. We don’t dictate that you have to attend set hours, your child can attend Head Start for the hours you need.

We have also re-developed the large garden and have created numerous areas using natural and sustainable materials. This is a little oasis which creates a different and ever changing place for your child to enjoy.

We hold, amongst other things, annual Christmas celebrations for all to enjoy and in the summer we have a leavers graduation for all our ‘big’ children before they go off to school. Northampton is a gem of a nursery, just the place in which your child will flourish and you will cherish.
